During the 1930s, the company expanded into retail gas stations. The Jones family later opened Indiana’s first convenience stores and launched the Tire Barn.In the fall of 2007, Tire Barn sold its retail gas outlets and convenience stores to focus on the growing tire business. Tire Barn eventually opened 31 locations in Indiana, Illinois, and Tennessee. The company was acquired in 2012 by Monro Muffler Brake, Inc., the fourth largest independent tire dealer in the United States.
